Oh, we're definitely getting into his parents/life in foster care. Erik's spent his entire life thinking all his problems were Shaw's fault, but Shaw was just the icing on the cake. I think we'll see how that's going to unfold at Erik's next appointment with Emma.
I do think Charles needs to get past his scheming and just talk to Erik, because it's important that he grows as a person too, but I have a feeling it'll be a while before he's ready for that. I sometimes want to kick Charles' mother.
