Hi. I'm here through the Fandom Snowflake Challenge. I feel I need to explain why I'm here. See, today's challenge is to "introduce yourself to someone you admire and friend/follow them." In this case, I guess, I'm re-introducing myself. Maybe you remember me from LJ? I used to love your fics and I haven't yet read any of your XMFC fics but I am actually really excited you're writing for XMFC. It's my primary reading fandom now after a hiatus from actively reading anything. Well, I guess that is all. I subscribed to your journal, I hope that's not a problem.

Omg, I totally remember you! Hello! How have you been? It's blowing my mind how many people I'm running into in XMFC. Which is awesome, because they're such a great pairing. I'm pretty much just using this journal to house fics, because I haven't the time to maintain a journal these days, but you're always welcome.

Omg hi! I'm almost done with school and actually have a job now. It's been so long! What's happening with you? This is so exciting!

I think I had an almost 4 year hiatus? Most because I decided it would be a good idea to spawn, so now I'm running around after a little guy who consumes all my time. He started preschool this year, so suddenly I had all this free time again. Naturally, it led to fandom.

Can I go and cry about how amazing that is? Or something.

My new years resolution was to attempt to be more social. I am failing miserably at it, but I figured if I actually added people to my reading circle, I might interact with people more, rather than hiding away like the hermit I am. So hello, I have no idea why I didn't add you sooner. Apologies all around (I can add you to my lj as well if you'd like, though I don't use it).

I think we're pretty social already, but that's just the two of us and crazy emails.

Oh, no, don't worry about LJ. I should start trying to cross-post since I have friends that are fed up with LJ. But, lazy. (Also, I think trying to import my whole LJ should be saved when everyone calms down from this LJ exodus.)

This is true. I think I last used my journal in 2007. I got fed up when Six Apart bought livejournal. It was the ads that drove me over the edge.

I still remember that debacle. Good time.

Totally off topic, but that really long fic posted today"Still Life with Cookies" is like blowing my brain right now. Because I wanted to add another 17K story to your list of "to reads".

If it isn't already known, I'm really the devil.

I haven't had a chance to go read any of the secret_mutant fics today. We were pretty much out and about all day and are only now making dinner.

Not sure if I'll get to it tonight, as I'd like to get caught up on chapter 10.

I only had them open because I was up at the unholy hour of 530 for work again. But it also meant I still have the other two longer fics waiting for me.

Writing is good. Reading can come later. I understand that. I'll be MIA most of tomorrow night, by the way. A friend and I are going to see "House of Lies" at some theatre. Or something.

There are so many fics being posted I almost feel burnt out. I'm kind of glad it ends this week--give me a chance to play catch up. I've missed tons.

And that's cool. I have no idea when this chapter will be ready.

Just think what would have happened if the schedule had been 15 fics a day? I'd be going "ACK!" Then I'd feel like a drown rat or a caged shark. Neither good.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm sort of MIA half the weekend. The family has the holiday part on Twelfth Night (Friday) and Sunday it's off to someplace else.

I have my phone always, so I'll just end up being anti-social somewhere else if you email me.

The problem, of course, is that a lot of really good stories aren't getting any love. Like that Circus AU--that's fantastic. And I think 5 people have commented on it. It deserves way more love than that. There are a few I've read that I thought were really good and they have a handful of reviews. I'm not sure if it's burn out or people are just waiting for the reveals to go back, but yeah, I'm tempting to make a secret_mutant rec list, except I don't want to risk hurt feelings.

I will try to get at least a skeleton of the character to you tonight, but it'll be late and won't have any of the media ready.

Yeah, that's really true. There are a few that I couldn't get through for various reasons, but I'm trying for all of them. (Is the Circus AU one of the longer ones? I have both of those still sitting for me to read.)

Then there's the Last Unicorn AU that made me cry.

If you make such a rec post, I will happily make my own. Or something.

That's the 12000 word one. I may be biased, however, because I'm obsessed with the 1930s...

I haven't read the Last Unicorn one yet, because I was worried it would make me cry (the damned movie did) but I've book marked it for a day when I think I can handle it.

I really doubt I'll do a rec post, because, yeah, that can cause problems.

History major here, so I'll be on that one next (it's sitting here waiting for me and I'm so uninterested in my work tomorrow right now.)

There's a problem with rec posts, but I'm so impressed with what the comm has produced so far which is pretty amazing. I'm ready for someone to think me crazy for the one I wrote. I know someone will think me crazy.

I'd comment on the one you wrote, but then it would give you away. If they think you crazy, it'll be good crazy.

You did comment on it, but now in a way that said who wrote it. Also why no one's handles was associated (yet) with beta work. I wasn't stupid enough to out myself via friendly associations.

Yes, it'll be a good crazy, I hope. I'm just waiting until I can get it on AO3 for more hilarious comments.

Hi Neko! Sorry this comment is in such a random post, I just didn't want to comment on a fic post. Anyway, just to say that I remember you from the WaT fandom years and years ago, and have had a few 'I wonder what Neko's up to' moments since then because your writing and your awesome personality really stayed with me. Anyway, I hope all is well with you, and I am delighted to see that you're still involved with fandom and being online. <3 (Hahaha, and if you don't remember me then obviously that is absolutely fine and don't worry ;))

OMG! ::glomps:: Of course I remember you! How have you been? I've only recently gotten back online, actually. What have you been doing with yourself? I've pretty much been doing the mom thing, which is why I was offline so long. Hard to be fanish until they get to preschool age. This is the first time in years I've had free time.

I'm doing teacher training right now, trying to figure everything out, that kinda thing! I'm so glad you're back online again. I'm not sure if we have fandoms in common but I've been aiming to update more here and get involved in dreamwidth so is it okay if I add you?

I kept meaning to check in with lj, but then life swept by and the next thing I know I've got a 3 year old and have been offline 4 years. That sounds really cool--the world needs good teachers. Are you still writing? I don't use dreamwidth a lot (except to archive fic) but if you're on tumblr, I tend to use that more often. I'm nekosmuse over there as well. I will still add you here, though.

Haha, of course, that makes sense! I ended up accidentally ditching LJ for a while too, although that was more because of student life rather than anything actually important, ha. Yes, I still write, although at the moment a lot less than I used to! I'm willowcabin over on tumblr, have added you there :)
